MX Timing Ltd - Terms and Conditions

The transponders all have unique 'pin numbers'. When they are fitted to a bike, each transponder emits a unique signal to the timing loop, which is set up below the finish line. These signals pass along a coaxial cable to the decoder, where they are translated into results and passed onto a computer.

Information that can be provided include qualifying times, overall & class race results, elapsed time of races, best lap times & on which lap, average speed (where the circuit lap distance is known) all within a few minutes of the end of each race. A printer will provide hard copy results and will also be published on www.mylaps.com within hours of the event finishing so competitors view their laptimes and results.

A 'Race-Monitor' program relays from the timing system, the actual "going race" to wireless or wired network, to other computers & monitors to 150metres. This information is useful to a commentator, race officials or pit crew signalling competitors with details such as race and or qualifying position, average speeds, lap times, a competitor gaining or losing position in the race, etc.

Contract for hire

These are our requirements & conditions of hire and usage of the Mylaps MX Transponder Timing System from MX Timing Ltd.

MX Timing Ltd supply the operators of the equipment, but we may need assistance from the organizers to assign the transponders at sign-in, (Sign-On sheets supplied by MX Timing Ltd).

MX Timing Ltd requires a dust-free work area at the finish line, such as a caravan, portacom or similar and 2 plastic round pipes dug into the ground at the finish line 600mm apart and 250-300mm deep for the coaxial cable to be inserted through.

As each transponder needs to be programmed with each competitors details, as many entries as possible should be supplied to us approximately 3 days before an event, We also need approximate times for sign on, classes, qualifying & race schedule supplied to programme the computers.

At sign-on each competitor is assigned a transponder for which he/she signs that he/she will be responsible for it's mounting on the vehicle, & return it at the end of racing, before leaving the venue, in undamaged condition. This makes the competitor responsible for repair or replacement of the transponder if not returned or damaged. Their replacement value is approx $650.00 each.

Fitting instructions are available for correct fitting. Own your own transponders are available for purchase from Mylaps.

COSTS: $20.00 + GST PER DAY for one day events OR $30 + GST for two day events with same riders FOR TRANSPONDER HIRE FEE & PROCESSING FEE for competitors that hire transponders.

$10.00 + GST PER EVENT/PER ENTRY PROCESSING FEE for competitors that own their own transponders. (Note: Competitors entered in two classes pays $10.00 + GST per class)

Transponder Hireage fees and processing fees are to be added to the entry form with a place for competitors to put there personal transponder number and offer a discount of $10.00 per day for competitors that own their transponders.

Travel and Accommodation will be charged. Please contact MX Timing Ltd re travel and accommodation as every event is different and charges vary depending on 1 or 2 day events and size of event.

MINIMUM CHARGE: MX Timing Ltd has a minimum charge of $1200.00 per day + GST for 60 riders or less plus travel and accommodation.

PAYMENT: Against an invoice is required within 7 days of event. Accounts overdue are liable for penalty interest at 15%

TRANSPONDER HIRE: (Clarification) Please note that if the same bike/transponder is being used in two classes then both entries are subject to a $10.00+ GST processing fee, but one transponder hire fee of $10.00+ GST will be charged.

CANCELLATION: Once an event has been booked/confirmed, then a cancellation fee will be applicable depending on what costs have been incurred, also any accommodation charges that we incur as a result of the cancellation, and any travel costs if we have already departed for the event will be payable.

POSTPONEMENT: If an event is postponed within 10 days of the event, then a postponement fee will be applicable, also any accommodation charges that we incur as a result of the postponement, and any travel costs if we have already departed for an event will be payable.
